Alberto Almanzar

Alberto Almanzar, 63 of Caldwell passed away on April 4, 2023.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Alberto at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Monday April 10 from 5-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Alberto immigrated to Newark on January 18, 1981. He lived there for many years until moving to Caldwell with his family in 2006. Alberto helped many people get ahead in life as a case manager for the Essex County Urban League, retiring three years ago. He was an avid baseball, basketball and boxing fan, and enjoyed watching his favorite teams whenever they played. Alberto cherished time spent out in the sun, and loved to eat fresh cherries right off of the cherry tree. Above all, Alberto treasured his family, most especially his adored grandchildren.

Alberto was the beloved husband of Carmen Guerrero Almanzar; loving father of Carmen Almanzar (Andrew Palazzo), Denise Almanzar (DeWayne Hardy), Alberto Almanzar, Jr. (Wendy) and Bryant Almanzar; dear grandfather of Jeremy Vazquez, Gianna Hardy, Cameron Almanzar, Savannah Almanzar and Dominic Palazzo; and the devoted brother of Frank Almanzar, Ricardo Cepeda, Francis Perez, Ramiro Almanzar, Victor Almanzar, Rafael Guerrero and Jose Luis Guerrero. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
