Alfred J. Lordi 85, of Clark formerly of Hillside died on Thursday December 11, 2014 at home.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Tuesday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Agnes Church in Clark at 9:45 am. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-5 pm and Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in Newark he lived in Hillside, before moving to Clark 35 years ago. He was an educator in Newark and Hillside, and a former Vice Principal in Hillside High School for 40 years, retiring in 1993. A veteran of the Korean War he was also a member of the Hillside Italian American Association, The Hillside Chapter of UNICO National, The Hillside Chapter of the Elks, and Lions Club, and The Gran Centurions Club in Clark.

Al was married to his late wife Cynthia (nee Cook) for 47 years until she passed away in 2010. He is the father of James D. Lordi and his wife Alicia, Alfred W. Lordi  and his wife Sheri, and Joseph N. Lordi. He is also the grandfather of James, Annie, and Matthew.
