Alice Luciano, 95, of Robbinsville, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021 surrounded by family who loved and adored her. And she in turn loved her family fiercely and was close to each of her children and grandchildren and extended family.
Alice was born November 17, 1925 and grew up in Newark, NJ and was one of 14 children of Stephen and Frances Morris. They had a loving and fun family and there was much love, kidding around, family picnics, card games and bowling. She was a bookkeeper; still balancing her checkbook up to last week.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph Luciano, son-Gary Luciano and son-in-law Joseph Barker and all her brothers and sisters and in-laws. Joe and Alice shared a great love and traveled the world and walked beside each other as partners and laughed daily. They were blessed with 7 children. Alice is survived by Richard Luciano and wife Meryl of Union Beach, NJ, Diane Luciano and Patrick Hanley of Parsippany, NJ, Ken Luciano of Clearwater, Fl, Jane Luciano of Robbinsville, NJ, Dan Luciano and wife Frances of Fords, NJ, Chris Luciano and wife Nikki of Pemberton, NJ, and daughter-in-law Maria Luciano of Fanwood, NJ. And her grandchildren: Nicole Reagan, David, Jonathon, Samantha and Joseph Luciano, Austin, Jack and Matthew Barker, Nicholas, Cristen and Shawn Luciano and Taren Terrill and Lacy Koon and 10 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was a kind, friendly, fun loving and funny, mentally sharp and strong woman. She chalked her long life up to laughter and love, no smoking, no drinking and two prunes a day. To know her was to love her and she was easy to love and talk to. She loved baseball, was a die-hard Yankee fan, loved to play games like Uno and Bananas and love to go to AC or Parx and play the slots. She really enjoyed looking at the water and sitting outside and talking to family and friends on the lagoon in Baywood and then later in life in Forked River. She will be sorely missed and always loved and remembered.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, was inducted as a Lady of the Holy Sepulcher in St. Patrick’s Cathedral; recognized for her dedication to the Catholic church, she and her husband ran Bingo at St. Joseph’s in Maplewood for many years.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22nd from 3pm to 7pm at Galante’s Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 23rd at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect Street, Maplewood, NJ followed by internment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.
