On February 17, 2024, our beloved and devoted Mother and Grandmother, Amalia Guerino (née Gigliotti), 84, peacefully entered into internal rest surrounded by her family. Amalia was born on April 21, 1939 in Catanzaro, Calabria (Italy) to her Father, Pietro and Mother, Amalia (née D’Alessandro). Amalia was an exceptionally intelligent woman who studied and loved literature, history, geography as well as the arts. She worked in the Bank of Catanzaro before marrying her husband, Emilio, and moving to the United States in 1965. Amalia lived in Elizabeth until 2008 then moved to Springfield, NJ. Amalia was an avid reader and enjoyed continuously learning and improving her English. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker, an outstanding cook, and enjoyed sewing, gardening and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Amalia is predeceased by her Husband Emilio and survived by her Son Frank & his Wife Teresa; her Daughter Maria & her Husband Carmine Forte; her Grandchildren, Michael, Marc, Carmine & Francesco; her Brothers Ernesto, Achille, Guido, Giuseppe, Franco and a Sister, Teresa Brunelli; along with many loving nieces and nephews both in the United States and Italy. She will forever live in the hearts of her beloved family.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 9AM to 11 AM.
Followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
