Amelia Gaillard

d. March 2, 2020

Amelia Chantel' Gaillard, 24, of Nutley entered into eternal life on March 2, 2020.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Amelia at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Sunday March 8 from 1-5 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated following visiting hours at 5 PM. Cremation will be held privately.

Born in Newark, Amelia was a lifelong resident of Nutley. After graduating from Nutley High School in 2014, Amelia continued her studies at Kean University, and graduated in 2018 with majors in Psychology and Therapeutic Recreation, and a minor in Health. Amelia was currently a student at Seton Hall University, working on a dual masters of education in professional and school counseling. A sister of Theta Phi Alpha sorority, Amelia also enjoyed volunteering for Be The Change NJ. Amelia was motivated and driven in everything she did, and she inspired countless others throughout her life.

An assertive, but kind woman, Amelia was known for her heart of gold. Her spirit always drove her to give as much as she could, and she was brave in the face of any adversity. Deeply devoted to her family, Amelia was a loving friend to many. A dedicated volunteer, her community will be forever grateful for the help she provided to them.

Amelia was the loving daughter of Karla Garcia, and her partner Andrew Rivera; and dear granddaughter of Gregory and Janis Mateo and Rosibel and Cesar Chavez. She was the beloved girlfriend of Eric Molina; cherished sister of Xavier Rivera and Quincy Gaillard, and treasured niece of Rosibel Chavez, Pamela Chavez and Charles Garcia.

Amelia was eternally grateful to the Valerie Fund for the support and assistance they have provided for her over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Valerie Fund, so that others might also get the help that they need.
