Amilia Bottitto (nee Aquilina), 79 of Roselle Park passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Amilia at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Sunday May 8 from 6-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.
Born in Sicily, Italy, Amilia immigrated to the United States with her family and arrived in Newark in 1958. After marrying, she and her husband moved to Irvington in 1968. Amilia later moved to Union in 1983 before living in Roselle Park for the past 24 years. Amilia was a cafeteria worker for the Irvington Board of Education, most recently serving in Irvington High School prior to her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed doing her crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and also liked to spend time playing cards or bingo. She loved to cook and Amilia’s most treasured time was spent with her loving family.
Amilia was the beloved wife of the late Frank E. Bottitto, who passed away in 1972. She was the loving mother of Rosemary Alvarado, Joseph Bottitto and Lisa Bottitto-Markase and her husband John; proud grandmother of Luis Alvarado, Margarita Alvarado, Joey Bottitto, Timothy Bottitto, Melissa Bottitto, Alexandria Markase, John Paul Markase II and Amilia Rose Markase; and adoring great-grandmother of Lesyah and Jake. She is also survived by her brothers Joseph Aquilina and his wife Lauretta and Philip Aquilina, and was predeceased by her sister Concetta Nemezio.
