Ammity E. Coleman, 74 of Caldwell passed away at Mountainside Hospital on April 1, 2015.

Burial will take place at the Ellis Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Nathalie, Virginia.

Arrangements are by the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell, 973-226-1801; and by the Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 North Main St., Nathalie, VA.

"Ms. Ammity Elaine Coleman, formerly of Halifax County, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Montclair, New Jersey, at the age of 74.

Ms. Coleman was born in Nathalie on April 25, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Mr. Clarence Coleman and Mrs. Mable Reid Coleman.

She attended Ellis Creek Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a retired employee of First Health Services.

Survivors of Ms. Coleman include her son, Mr. Rodney Gordon Coleman, of Caldwell, New Jersey; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Wright-Nash of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Margaret Obie of Greensboro, North Carolina, Ms. Vearlie Coleman of New York and Mrs. Myrtle Bates of Crystal Hill; one brother, Mr. William Coleman, of South Boston; and a host of other relatives and friends."
