Andrew Cignarella

Andrew Cignarella, 90 of Union passed away on March 12, 2016.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Tuesday at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Visitation is on Monday from 3-8 PM.

Born in Newark, Andrew lived in East Orange for 25 years before moving to Union. He lovingly served his country in the Army during World War II as a Combat Engineer in the 7th Division 286 Regiment. Andrew worked for Interbake Foods in Elizabeth for many years as a maintenance mechanic before his retirement. He absolutely loved going to "visit his money" in Atlantic City.

Andrew was the son of the late Andrew (Henry) Cignarella and Filomena Frino Cignarella; husband of the late Ella (nee LaFerrara); loving father of Diana Santillo and her husband Joe and Andrew Cignarella and his wife Barbara; grandfather of Dawn, Krissy, Joey, Jessica, Lisa, Andrew and Michael; great-grandfather of Ella, Victoria, Addison, Makenzie, Dakota, Kayla, Christian, Gianna, Mason, Molly and Jack. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Cecilia Beyer, Theresa Laferrara, Jenevieve Meyer and Jeannie Veneziano. He was also the brother of the late Richard, Michael, Anthony, Rocko and Jerry Cignarella and Concetta Pizar.
