Angela Raimondo

May 21, 1921 - August 21, 2016

Angela Raimondo departed this world and entered into eternal life in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning August 21, 2016 after a long illness. She was 95. Angela was born in Harrison, N.J.  She met her husband of 58 years Daniel (Dempsey) Raimondo of Kearny, NJ who predeceased her on August 24, 1999. They were married on April 27, 1941.  She attended Harrison High School and later became a bookkeeper. She continued her education by learning the electronics of her day.  She raised their two daughters, Marianne Van Volkenburgh and Evelyn P. Raimondo Kaiser Esq. They lived in Harrison until 1959 when they moved to Union, NJ .  In her later years, she spent her summer days on Long Beach Island on her perch which was on the ocean while planning her evening visits to the casinos in Atlantic City.  Ange was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her daughters Marianne and Evelyn and her four grandchildren, Dr. Robert Van Volkenburgh, Jr , Dr. Donna Haeger, Dr. Sherry Jimenez and Dr. Daniel Van Volkenburgh and 12 great-grandchilden; Nicolas Treviso, Taryn Treviso, Eily Haeger, Calton Haeger, Aidan Haeger, Owen Jimenez, Carmen Van Volkenburgh, Robert P. Van Volkenburgh, Vance Van Volkenburgh, Carlo Van Volkenburgh, Luke Van Volkenburgh and Jack Blunk. She is also survived by her brothers Albert Lutrario and Larry Lutrario, her brother in law John (Jack) Gillon, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by her sisters Jean Tricarico and Dolores (Cookie) Gillon. She was a loving mother to her Son In Law, Robert Van Volkenburgh, who she considered her son until his passing on August 26, 2014.

To Angie family always came first.  Angie is known for being a bright penny with a great sense of humor and for her happy smiles and outlook on life. She never had an unkind word for anyone. She and her husband, Dan, loved to dance at the many festivities they attended. Angie worked at International Paint/Akzo Nobel in Union until the age of 86 where she had another family of friends. Her long and remarkable life has been sprinkled with joy and sorrow and she always came through with a smile or laugh.  She is greatly loved and will be missed by all.

Viewing will be held at Galante Funeral Home on Morris Avenue, Union on Thursday August  25 ^th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9; A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholoic Church on Vauxhall Road and Kelly Street at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday August 27, 2016 to celebrate her life followed by entombment Hollywood Memorial Park.
