Angelo DiPuma, 88, of Irvington, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on April 8, 2019, surrounded by family at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
Born in Canicatti, Italy, Angelo emigrated and has lived in Irvington since 1973.
He was a cutlery assemblyman at J. Wiss & Sons Co. of Newark. Angelo was known for his love of soccer, gardening, and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife Hedwig Marie DiPuma, parents Carmelo and Antonina DiPuma, brother Joseph DiPuma and sister Calogera Carlino.
Surviving are his daughters Christine Rodrigues, Miriam Backes, Viviane Jambor and husband Robert, Antoinette, Cincinna and sons Angelo, Carlo, and Joseph. His brothers Colegero and wife Maria, Antonio and wife Carmela, Gioacchino and wife Rosa and Diego and wife Nunsia and brother-in-law Diego Carlino, and 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Angelo at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Wednesday April 17 from 9 to 11 AM. A Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11 AM, and burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
