Angelo Spagnolo 89, of Union, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2014.

Funeral from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Tuesday at 8:30    am. Funeral  mass at Holy Spirit Church Union at 9:30   am. Interment St Gertrude Cemetery.  Visitation Monday 4 - 8  pm.

Angelo was born on September 9, 1924 in Newark. He served in the US Army fighting in World War II and was injured in the Battle of the Bulge. He received  two purple hearts for his military service. After his discharge from the Army he started his own business, Spag's Oil, where he retired after 40 years of hard work. He raised his family in Irvington, before settling in Union.

Angelo was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Julia (nee Tangerie). Angelo will be greatly missed by his two children Blase and his wife Marietta Spagnolo: Anna and her husband Gill Restaino. He was the grandfather of Michael Restaino, Gill Restaino Jr., Danielle Dapuzzo, Melissa Sona, and Susanne Mercado. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Orazi and Terry Geunzel, and  4 great grandchildren.
