Ann G. Gesumaria

Ann G. Gesumaria (nee Leonardis) 97, of Newark, passed away peacefully  on Wednesday June 22, 2016. The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Monday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Sunday from  1 -5 pm.

Born in Newark she was a lifelong resident of the Ironbound Section of Newark. She and her husband were the founders of The Essex County Independence Park Senior Citizens Friday Club  in Newark, of which she was the treasurer for 25 years. She was a loving caregiver for all her family members throughout the years.

Ann was the wife of the late Frank Gesumaria for 68 years until he passed away in 2011. She raised 2 loving sons Frank Gesumaria and his wife Carol, and Dennis Gesumaria and his wife Denise. She is also the grandmother of Frank III, Dennis Jr. Jacquelyn, and John. She was predeceased by her sisters Rose A. Leonardis, and Grace P. Leonardis.  Special thanks to her caregivers Luci, and Julia.
