Anna Chukala

Anna Mary Chukala (nee Melnick), 90 of Hillside passed away on March 1, 2015.

A funeral service will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Union. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 AM - 12 noon.

Born in Rankin, PA, Anna lived in Newark before moving to Hillside in 1962. She was a member of the Ladies Guild of St. George Church in Newark. Anna worked as a parts inspector for General Electric in Springfield before retiring many years ago.

Anna was the beloved wife of George until he passed away in 1987. She was the loving mother of Mary Ann King and George Chukala; beloved grandmother of John, Jennifer, Jason, Erica and Christopher; and cherished great-grandmother of Victoria, Alexandria, Autumn, Samantha and Abigail. She was also the sister of the late Michael Melnick, Mary Buber and Margaret Tomscany.

Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who held her family very near to her heart.
