Anna Schiano

Anna Schiano (nee Iuliano), a long-time Springfield resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Overlook Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was 81.

See was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, John Schiano. She leaves behind her two sons, John Schiano Jr. and Robert Schiano (and his wife, Candice); and one brother, Salvatore Iuliano. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, Nicholas John Schiano and Sophia Rose Schiano, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Born in Rotondi, Italy to the late Antonio and Rosaria Iuliano, Anna moved to Madison in 1960. She met her husband, John and moved to Springfield in 1971. Anna was devoted to her family and had great pride in seeing her sons and grandchildren grow up before her eyes. She cherished the time she spent with family and friends. Anna enjoyed taking trips to the beach in the summer months with her husband. Anna loved nature and also took great pride in her garden. She loved cooking meals for her family and took pleasure in hosting gatherings for loved ones. She touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy that will last for many years to come. Her memory is a blessing and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, at 8:30AM. A Funeral Mass will take place in St. James Church, Springfield, at 9:30AM. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
