Annmarie grew up in Newark graduating Girls Vo-Tech in 1961. She then proceeded to graduate from Rutgers University-Newark with an Associates degree in Accounting in 1963. Annmarie met her husband, the late Joseph E. Martin, in 1959. Annmarie and Joseph met while working as volunteers for the Roseville First Aid Squad.
