Anthony Albano

Anthony "Bo" Albano, 88 of Newark passed away on August 26, 2017.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Wednesday August 30 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Newark. Visitation is on Tuesday from 3-8 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Newark, Bo was a lifelong resident. He served in the army from 1952-1954 as a corporal before working as a longshoreman for Intl. Terminal Operators in Newark for 50 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the ILA Local 1235, the Pacific Loafers Club and the Ironbound Executives.

Anthony was the beloved husband of the late Connie (nee Giordano); loving father of Maria Contardo and her late husband Nicholas, and Carolyn Rodriguez and her husband Jose. He was the grandfather of Nicholas III and his wife Cristina, Caroline, Anthony, Joseph and his wife Jennifer, and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his brother Frankie Albano; and is survived by sisters Fannie Tonzola, Jay Davidson and Mary Kachur; and by 3 great-grandchildren.
