Anthony "Brooklyn" Alfano

Anthony  "Brooklyn" Alfano 81, of Union, died on Thursday October 8, 2015,

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, NJ on Tuesday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Michael Church in Union at 10:15 am. Interment will follow in Gate of  Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 - 8 pm.

Born in Brooklyn, NY he came to the Down Neck Section of Newark, before moving to Union 50 years ago. He was a truck driver  for the Bayonne Barrel Co. for 25 years, and then became a bus driver for the Union Twp. Board of Education for 10 years, retiring 12 years ago. He was  also a member of the Columbia Italian American Club of  Union for many years.

Brooklyn was married to his wife Rosemarie (nee Weekley) for 59 years, and is the father of Mary Rose Alfano, and the late Anna Marie Ferrante. He is also the brother of Priscilla Junior, and the grandfather of  Joshua Bettinger, and Ashley Abrusci and her husband Frank.
