Born in Brooklyn, NY, Tony lived in Lincoln Park for 43 years before moving to Indian Land 8 years ago. He was superintendent of field operations in the New York City construction industry for many years, rounding out his career as an independent sales contractor until his retirement in 2001.

Tony was loved by all who met him, and made friends wherever he went. His quick wit, kindness and class will be forever remembered. When he told a story, it always captured the complete attention of everyone in the room. A true gentleman, Tony always looked sharp. He was a selfless man who always put his wife and family above himself.

Tony was the beloved husband of 55 years to Elaine (nee Nitti); and the loving father of John Demeri and his wife Colleen, Anthony Demeri and his wife Grace, Jennifer DePinto and her husband Robert, and Ken Demeri and his wife Kelly. He was the brother of the late Frank Demeri and Nancy Tirelli. He is survived by his wonderful grandchildren Frank Galante, Alysha Demeri and her fiancee Ryan, John Demeri, Josh Newman, Anthony Demeri, Olivia Demeri, Alec Demeri, Tommy Demeri, Jillian DePinto, Dean DePinto, Taryn Demeri and Chris Armijo; and by many other relatives and friends.

Along with the love he had for Elaine, Tony was most proud of his children and grandchildren, and he never let any of them forget it.
