Born in New York City, Tony was a longtime Pequannock resident. He lovingly served his country in the Navy during World War II; and more recently was a longtime member and supporter of UNICO and the Knights of Columbus. Tony loved to sing, golf, bowl and play cards. Always with a joke up his sleeve, his ability to entertain will always be remembered. He was also a great cook, treating his family to his wonderful chicken soup, cheesecake and rice pudding. Among Tony's other passions were inventing and tinkering with things, taking on many projects along the way. Forever a perfectionist, he was a skilled craftsman with precision accuracy.
Tony's greatest loves were his family and friends, all of whom he held very near to his heart.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lillian (nee Vetrano); his loving children Rosanne Pitrelli and her husband Peter, Lorraine Tarnogursky and her husband John, and Diane Strassle and her husband Brian. He is survived by his wonderful grandchildren LoriAnne Camaya and her husband Victor, William Juliano and his wife Alison, Nicole Tarnogursky, Jon Tarnogursky and his wife Amanda, Paula Strassle and Michael Strassle; and by his beautiful great-grandchildren Cameron, Christopher and Anthony. Tony is the brother of Eleana Maniscalco and her husband Leo, and was predeceased by his sisters Carmela Cipriano and Tina DiDio.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony's memory may be made to Pequannock UNICO, PO Box 176 Pequannock, NJ 07440.
