Anthony Inguagiato

Anthony Samuel Inguagiato, 101 of Mountainside passed away on January 31, 2022.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Anthony at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside on Friday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Born in Newark, Anthony was a Mountainside resident for the past 68 years. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served in the European Theater, and having landed on the beaches of Normandy. Anthony was the co-owner with his brother John of Lafayette Mill & Supply Co. in Newark for many years until his retirement 30 years ago. Anthony enjoyed riding the Mountainside senior citizen bus, more so as a social event than needing a ride. He also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City; again not to gamble, but simply to enjoy great company. Most of all, Anthony treasured time spent with his grandchildren during their trips to the shore.

Anthony was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (nee Lentowski) Inguagiato; loving father of Evelyn Gayara and her husband Jack and Cindy DiPietro and her husband Mark; cherished grandfather of Kelly Gayara (Alan), Kristi VanDyke (Joe), Eric DiPietro (Steph) and Evan DiPietro; and adoring great-grandfather of Alivia DiPietro. He was predeceased by his brothers Samuel, Salvatore and John, and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Mountainside Rescue Squad, or to the Borough of Mountainside, Attn: Kimberly Moriak, noting in memory of Tony Inguagiato, for use in maintaining their senior citizen bus.
