Antoni Jacek, 92 of Caldwell, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2019.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Antoni at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Friday, September 6, from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Casmir Church in Newark at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
Born in Poland, Antoni proudly served in the Polish Army before moving to the United States in 1958 where he settled in Irvington, NJ.
He later moved his family to Newark in 1961 and then purchased a house in Caldwell in 1974.
Antoni was a farmer, and successfully worked his land along with his brothers. He also worked as a floor manager for Tip-Top Bakery
in Newark for twenty years before retiring. Antoni had much love in his life and enjoyed many things from playing the violin to listening to opera.
He was a huge sports fan, especially cheering for the New York Yankees. Antoni also enjoyed playing cards and billiards with his brothers.
Devoutly Roman Catholic, Antoni had a great faith in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. He believed in the power of prayer
and the sanctity of Holy Communion. Putting God's word into action, Antoni always gave a helping hand when needed.
Antoni was the loving spouse to Genowefa Jacek and dear father of Irena B. Jacek.
He was predeceased by his brothers John, Julian and Walenty Jacek.
