Archimede "Archie" Ferroni

Archimede Ferroni, 87, died peacefully in his sleep at the Baily Center for Care on October 5^th 2023, in St. Augustine, FL.

Archie was an adoring husband, father, grandfather (pop), brother and uncle. He is predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children Wanda Ferroni, his mother and father Serafino and Adelaide Ferroni as well as his brothers Louie, Nicky, Alex and Edmond Ferroni whom he missed every single day.

Archie is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Toni J. Ferroni,  his children Marianna Ferlita and husband Carmelo, and son Serafino (Sam) Ferroni as well as his step children Deborah Cohen (Dave Cohen), Christopher Southworth (Maggie Frank) and Megan Smalley (Phil Romano). He sadly leaves behind his three sisters, Irene Leavy, Rosemarie Ventura and Lucy Ulrich (Frank Ulrich), along with a huge number of nieces and nephews that he was so proud of. 

The lights of Archie’s life were his many grandchildren including Gabriella and Alessandro Ferlita, Jake, Luke, Aubrey and Tyler Cohen, Jimmy and Mia Southworth, Phillip and Vivian Romano.

Archie grew up in East Orange, NJ and spent his life as the owner operator of Archie Ferroni Landscaping for over 50 years. He had a deep passion for family and a remarkable work ethic. He was a football enthusiast, jokester, marvelous cook, the best party thrower we knew and an all around jovial guy who loved his garden, his fish, all his dogs and of course, his lawn mower!

His presence will be severely missed as well as the way his smile could light up a room, but his spirit will certainly live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure to know him. Football Sundays will never be the same. Every holiday will always have a piece missing, Every birthday will no longer have the star singer and every St. Patrick’s Day will be missing the best corned beef and cabbage ever. Undoubtedly he will be shining down on us all from a casino in Heaven that serves all you can drink coffee!

Memorial visitation will be at The Galante Funeral Home on Friday 10/20/23 from 3-7PM.

A brief graveside ceremony will be held at Gate of Heaven on Saturday 10/21/23 at 11AM.
