Argyro Loucopoulos of Red Bank, NJ .passed away peacefully on Monday June 11, 2024 at
Bayside Manor in Keansburg, NJ. One of three children, Argyro was born on April 16, 1938 in
Vasileoniko, Chios, Greece. In 1962, she immigrated to Newark, NJ after marrying her husband
Elias in Athens, Greece.
After living in Newark for three years, the Loucopoulos family moved to Irvington, NJ where
Argyro began her career as a school bus driver for the Irvington Board of Education, and
ultimately moving to Millburn, NJ. Her passion was helping at St Demetrios Church, singing in
the Church choir, working with the youth, and loved baking and running the boutique for the
annual festival. She was also involved with the Philoptochos Society of St Demetrios church and
was a founding member of the St Markella Society, an organization whose members are from
Chios, Greece and raised money for various charitable causes. However, her greatest joy came
from spending time with her family and especially her loving grandchildren.
Argyro was predeceased by her loving husband Elias Loucopoulos, parents Mihalis and Irene
Fetokakis and sister Hariklia Litsakis who all lived in Chios, Greece.
She is survived by her sons, Lucas and his wife Kristine and Michael and his wife Vasilia.
Cherished grandmother of Elias, Alexandra, Sophia, Ava and Argie. and dear sister Despina
Kokkinakis, who lives in Chios Greece.
Visitation will be held June 13, 2024 from 4-8PM at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris
Avenue, Union NJ. Funeral services will be held June 14, 2024, at 10AM at St Demetrios Greek
Orthodox Church 721 Rahway Avenue, Union, NJ. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery,
Westfield, NJ.
