Arthur A. Mathews

Arthur A. Mathews, 77 of Paterson passed away at home on January 27, 2025.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Art at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Friday January 31 from 4-8 PM. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. James of the Marches Church in Totowa on Saturday at 9:30 AM. Those attending the funeral are asked to meet directly at church. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery.

Born in Paterson, Art was a lifelong resident. He worked as a porter for SB Thomas, Inc. for many years prior to his retirement in 1991. Art was an avid movie buff, and treasured time spent with his family.

Art was the devoted brother of Joseph Mathews and his wife Susan, Gene Mathews and Esther Diaz; loving uncle of Danielle Kaiser and her husband Danny, Nicole Denisenko and her husband Ilya, Paige Card and her husband Tevin, and the late Ricky Mathews and Gene Mathews. He was also the dear great-uncle of Waylon, Lainey and Ricky.
