Barbara Maran

Barbara J. Maran (nee Limpert), 66 of West Caldwell passed away on October 2, 2017.

A Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave. Caldwell on Friday October 6 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Thursday from 3-8 PM.

Born in Montclair, Barbara lived in Belleville before moving to West Caldwell in 1965. She and her husband were the owners of Broad Pharmacy in Clifton for 20 years. In 1996, Barbara began volunteering at St. John's Soup Kitchen in Newark. Her dedication was clear, and she was named Director of St. John's Soup Kitchen in 2001, a position in which she served proudly.

Barbara was the beloved wife of Scott T. Maran; loving mother of Jason Maran and Kelly Ross and her husband Allan; dear sister of James Limpert and his wife Hughann, and grandmother of Dylan Ross. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Arthur Bruce Maran and his wife Janice, nieces Alison Tejeda and Kerri Tomasso, and by several great-nieces and nephews.
