Beatrice V. Poultney

Beatrice V. Poultney, 83 of Edison, formerly of Elizabeth passed away on November 13, 2022.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Bea at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday November 19 from 9 - 11:30 AM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11:30 AM, and burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park. For everyone's continued safety, all guests are kindly asked to wear a mask.

Born in Queens, NY, Beatrice lived in Dunellen before residing in Elizabeth for many years. She moved to Edison to be close to her son last year. Beatrice worked for Brookdale Christian School, and was later an executive secretary in the banking industry. Bea also worked for the Town of Fanwood, and enjoyed her later work for the Eye Bank of New Jersey in Clark.

Beatrice was a great supporter of Be the Change NJ, and the Facebook group "HOPE". She made any contributions to these organizations that she could, and especially enjoyed providing them with leads for possible donations, used to help those in greatest need. An avid user of social media, Bea scoured groups and individuals for potential donors. She touched many people by these acts of kindness. Beatrice also treasured time spent fishing, and was a fan of Alex Trebek, having enjoyed watching his shows, especially "Classic Concentration".

Bea was a very giving person. She lovingly helped her son through a childhood illness, caring for him when he needed her the most.

Beatrice was the loving mother of Steven Poultney; and dear sister of David Renken. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Renken and by her sister Audrey Davidow.
