Benito Vazquez

Benito Vazquez, 73 of Clark, NJ passed away on February 6, 2025. Born in Ourense, Spain, Benito immigrated to Newark in 1966 before settling in Kearny and later making his home in Clark in 1989.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Benito was a longshoreman for ILA Local #1235 for 50 years until his retirement in 2019. 

Beyond his career, Benito found joy in life’s simple pleasures—his morning walks, his cherished summers spent in Spain, and most of all, the time he shared with his beloved grandchildren. His family was his greatest treasure, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.

Benito is survived by his loving wife, Elvira; his sons, Benny Vazquez and his wife Kimberly, and Robert Vazquez and his wife Zoe; his sister, Emilia Perez, and her husband Antonio; and several dear nephews and nieces. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Aiden, Liliana, and Christian, who brought endless joy to his life.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, February 9, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, NJ. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Clark, followed by entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Benito will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his warmth, strength, and unwavering love for his family.
