Blanca Giraldez Casas passed away on March 29, 2017 of Newark.

She was the wife of Lorenzo Rios Sr.

Mother of Lorenzo Rios Jr.and his wife Orlanda, Miguel Rios, Maria Rios-Sousa and her husband Michael, Lorenzo Jose and Maria Isabel.

Daughter of Esther Casas and the late Valeriano Giraldez.

Sister of Jose, Antonio and the late Jesus.

Sister in Law of Aurora Rios, Josefina Errante and Antonia Gomez-Beleiro.

Grandmother of Lorenzo (AKA Maiki), Jesus, Michael and Maribelle.

Blanca was born in Lugo, Spain and arrived and settled in the Ironbound section of Newark in 1991.

This amazing woman has lived her life fulfilled with love and many blessings. Her husband of 37 years always felt loved and respected by her at all times. Her children were raised in a home full of love, acceptance and understanding. The strength of her love taught anyone who met her to allow God to bless them. She was always a wonderful friend to many, they always had a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on if needed. Her bright soul had a fun side at the right times. She loved to dance and move the mood into a laughing fit. Her talented hands had a passion to create beautiful crafts and ornaments that everyone loved and cherished. She always stood for what she believed to be right even if it meant telling those close to her that they were wrong. Her wise words always lit the darkest moments.

Visitation at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday from 7 - 9 PM.

All attending the Funeral service for Blanca, are asked to be at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Newark for the mass on Friday morning at 9:30 AM. A chapel service will follow the mass at Fairmount Cemetery at 620 Central Ave. in Newark.
