Brother Raouol Molnar, 71, of Roselle died Monday Nov. 28, 2011, in the Marist Brothers Residence at Mount Saint Michael Academy, Bronx, NY.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday evening Dec. 1st at 7 PM at St. Joseph the Carpenter Church , Roselle, NJ. Visitation Wednesday, Nov. 30th 7-9 PM. And Thursday Dec. 1st 2-4 PM. Born in Brooklyn, Brother Raoul Molnar entered the Marist Brothers Juniorate in 1955. He professed vows at St. Joseph’s Novitiate in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts in 1960 and lived 56 years in the Congregation of the Marist Brothers of the Schools. His perpetual profession was made at Marist College where he received his B.A. in 1963. He also holds a graduate degree in pastoral counseling from Iona College. Brother Raoul professed the Vow of Stability in 1999.
Brother Raoul served in the Archdiocese of Newark for more than 50 years. Most recently a guidance counselor and teacher at Roselle Catholic High School, Roselle, where he served for 15 years, Brother Raoul also served for more than 20 years at Marist High School, Bayonne and for 12 years at Union Catholic High School, Scotch Plains. During his religious life, Brother Raoul also held the position of Director of Vocations.
He is survived by his brother, Robert and his wife Arlene, his nieces, Teresa Iacuone and Christine Urbanak, his nephew, Paul Molnar, as well as seven grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
