Carl J. Pasquale of Short Hills passed away on Sunday January 4, 2015 at the age of 91. Carl was born on August 27, 1923 to Antonio and Mary (nee Yacovino) Pasquale in Elizabeth, N.J. He was a resident of Short Hills for over 50 years. He received a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering, currently N.J.I.T. and a Masters Degree from Stevens University. Carl served in the United States Army during WWII and was a prisoner of war in Germany for 7 months. Carl was a Systems Management Engineer for Ciba-Novartis, working there for over 25 years, retiring in 1993. As a father of nine, Carl had a fierce pride in family and succeeded in shaping a tightly-knit, caring family. His love, second to family, was tennis. While at Ciba, he ran the tennis ladder and scheduled matches for fellow engineers. He played every day, winter and summer and won many township tennis matches. Carl was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6386, Saint Rose of Lima and the Lifelighters.

Carl is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gloria (nee DeMicco) Pasquale. Father of Carol (Roman) Wojenski, Ann (Dennis) Edie, Anthony, Rosalie, Elizabeth, John (Patricia), Thomas (Julie), James, and the late Dr. Michael (Eileen) Pasquale. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday January 8 ^th from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. at the Ron Mowad Funeral & Cremation Service, 908-687-1182 (located in the Galante Funeral Home building) 2800 Morris Avenue, Union The funeral will be Friday January 9 ^th at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:15 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 50 Short Hills Avenue, Short Hills.
