Carlos Silva

Carlos Silva, 72, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2025.

Born in Brazil, Carlos later migrated to Newark, NJ, and later to Union, NJ, where he began working for Galante Funeral Home as a beloved funeral assistant. Known for his hard work and good sense of humor, Carlos was an incredibly valued employee to the Galante Funeral Home team. 

He was a friend who brightened the days of those around him, and often cooked for everybody in the funeral home office. His dedication to his profession and the families he helped serve was evident in everything he did, and he consistently went above and beyond in his duties. Carlos also had a deep love for the simpler pleasures in life, as he could often be found fishing or camping in his cherished R.V. in his free time. He left an indelible mark during over 25 years of dedicated service, and his absence is deeply felt by colleagues and friends alike.

After retiring at the age of 72 in November of 2024, Carlos returned to his roots in Brazil, where he later passed away.

A private burial was held in Brazil by his family.

Carlos is remembered fondly by his loving family, many friends, and by his colleagues at Galante Funeral Home, and his spirit will continue to resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know him.
