Carmen Montero

Maria Carmen Montero Rodriguez, of Miami, Florida passed away on July 8th 2023.
Carmen was born on February 19th, 1933 to Maria Josefa and Marcial Rodriguez, in a small
rural village in Galicia Spain called Las Regas. She came to America after she married Enrique
Montero, also a Galician immigrant, and built their life together in New Jersey - first in Newark,
then Elizabeth and once retired down to Barnegat. She worked as a Seamstress until she
retired. Carmen loved to laugh, loved family, she loved to cook, and to party with friends. After
her Enrique passed away, she moved to Florida where she lived the rest of her days. Carmen
lived in a condo by the bay that she loved until she could no longer live alone. She will always
be remembered for being a happy person, always with a smile on her face, and always ready
and willing to help.
Carmen was predeceased by her dear husband Enrique. She is survived by her siblings Jose
Rodriguez and Nely Ros, her three beloved children Ricky, Elva and Joe, her daughters-in-law
Denise and Lenice and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly
and will hold on to the many smile producing memories she left behind.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Carmen at the Galante Funeral Home,
2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday July 13 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Funeral Service
will be celebrated in the funeral home at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest with her loving
husband at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge Twp., NJ following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association
https://www.alz.org, to continue the important work in providing Alzheimer’s care and support
accelerating research to find a cure.
