Carmine Collucci, Jr. 58 of Union, NJ died peacefully on January 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, he attended Essex Catholic and East Side High School.
The family will accept friends on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union, NJ. Funeral Mass on Friday, 11:15 am St. Michael’s Church, Union, NJ. Private entombment for his family will follow.
He was a loyal and dedicated member of ILA/Local 1, employed as a Longshoreman at Port Newark Container Terminal.
The pride and joy of Carmine’s life were his wife and children. He cherished family, friends, and will be remembered for his devout devotion to God. The joy of the Lord was his spiritual and physical strength.
A keen sense of humor as a fascinating conversationalist and an admirable memory for details, he enjoyed recounting stories of the people close to his enormous heart. Carmine's phenomenal personality, selfless loyalty, and generous nature along with the legacy of his warm smile, comforting demeanor, and love will endure forever.
As an avid fisherman, summers on LBI were spent cooking “the catch of the day” after fishing or crabbing on his boat. Other favorite pastimes included reading, crossword puzzles, wine making, listening to all music and cheering for the Yankees and Giants.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Augusta; his cherished daughter, Gina Marie; predeceased by his beloved son, Carmine III; his predeceased father, Carmine; mother, Antonette; siblings: Annette Rodriguez, Stephen, Michael and Rocco, and by close in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time-friends.
