Charles Blakely, 82, passed away on January 3, 2021 in Greenville, South Carolina. Family fondly referred to him by his pet name: Frank (or Uncle Frank).
He was born on June 29, 1938 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and lived most of his life in northern New Jersey. Charles served in the US Army from 1956 – 1958 and was stationed in Panama. He worked at Ford Motor Company in New Jersey for 40 years in various manufacturing positions. He loved visiting and spending time with family. Charles enjoyed traveling around the country and his legendary vacations included visiting National Parks & museums, dude ranches and white-water rafting trips. He was also an avid aviation and car enthusiast.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Joseph W. & Sidonia (Stocklas) Blakely and his stepmother Lillian (Rossiter) Blakely, his brothers Joseph, John, and Robert, his sisters Charlotte Spaulding, Mary Whiteman and Ruth Craig and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Charles is survived by his dear brothers and sisters: Richard, Eleanor Woomer, Lillian Brown, and James (Judy). Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to the Galante Funeral Home in Caldwell.
