It is with great sorrow that we the Alleyne family announce the passing of Christian H. Alleyne,
our beautiful son. Christian, affectionately known as “Chris” and to family “Cree” was called
home to eternal rest on April 14th, 2023.
Christian was born on October 3, 1998, to Henderson and Crystal Alleyne in Brooklyn, NY. Six
years following, he became a big brother to his sister Kyra, with who he has shared his childhood
and many great memories.
Chris was a very active child as he learned to swim at four years old. He was trained in martial
arts, and played various sports such as basketball, baseball and soccer. His favorite sport was
baseball where he excelled and played many years in little league for Starrett City and travel
baseball for Youth Service League. Christian was also musically inclined and played the drums,
the bass, and the keyboard.
Christian and his family relocated to West Orange NJ when he was 14 years old, Christian
adjusted to his new home, however, his heart always belonged to Brooklyn, where he displayed
his great athletics skills and his grounding in the community. In West Orange, he equally gelled
and became part of the community. Christian attended West Orange High School and proudly
graduated in 2016 he briefly attended college and realized it was not for him. In 2019 Christian
earned his class A CDL license, and was subsequently hired as a full-time employee with the
New Jersey Department of Transportation, where he was employed as a Highway Operation
Technician. In Early 2023 during the horrendous snowfall in Buffalo NY Christian proudly
volunteered to join Task Force 1 an emergency crew who were deployed to Erie County in
Western NY to help dig out at least 49 inches of snow. For Chris, this was an arduous yet satisfying
experience.
Christian loved antique cars and was a proud owner of a 1991 Cadillac which he coined
“McFly”, he was a lover of animals and nature. He found solace when he traveled as he loved to
learn about other cultures.
Christian is survived by his beautiful daughter Kendall Alleyne, loving parents Henderson and
Crystal Alleyne, wonderful sister Kyra Alleyne, and his bestie, his dog Latte. He also leaves
behind his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Godmother, and literally everyone who has
been a part of his life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Christian on Thursday April 27, from 5-8 pm at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave, Caldwell NJ 07006. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Orange.
