Christopher Leonardis

Christopher Michael Leonardis Sr., 56 of Nutley, NJ passed away on May 24, 2023.

Born and raised in Newark and a graduate of Vailsburg High School, he was a trucker who worked in waste management and was best known for his work ethic, sense of humor, and huge heart.

The beloved son of the late Thomas Anthony Sr. and Anna May Leonardis, he was the loving father of Christopher Michael Leonardis Jr., adoring partner to Maryann Popola, brother of Donna Marie Williams, Thomas A. Leonardis Jr., Stephanie Ann Cassell who predeceased him, Margie May McDonald, and Stephen J. Leonardis, and proud uncle of his 10 nieces and nephews.

Christopher Michael’s best days were those filled with family, friends, laughter, food, and a good cigar by the beach.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Christopher at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday June 1st from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark on Friday at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
