Christopher  "Chick"  P. Galante 83 of Toms River

died on Thursday July 19, 2018.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, NJ on Tuesday at 8:30 am.

The funeral mass will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark (Ironbound) at 10 am.

Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.

Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 PM.

Born in Newark He lived in the Ironbound section until he moved to Toms River NJ 15 years ago.

He was a longshoreman with The ILA in Port Newark retiring 15 years ago.

An avid card player his favorite game was pinochle.

Chick was married to his late wife Ann (nee Alfano),

and is the father of Christopher and his wife Andrea Galante,

and Gina and her husband James Iavarone.

He is the brother of the late Anna Marie Gianaras, Anthony,  & Victor Galante.

He is also the grandfather of Santino, Lianne, Anthony, and Christopher.
