Claire Speziale

Claire I. Speziale (nee Mayer) 85 of Summit passed away on March 25, 2013.

The Funeral Service is at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday at 11:15 AM. Cremation is private. Visitation is on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Born in Newark, Claire graduated West Side High School before marrying her husband John in 1952. She has been a Summit resident since 1958. She worked as an executive assistant for Shell Packaging in Berkeley Heights since 1981, never retiring. Known to all as “G”, Claire loved to take trips to Atlantic City, attend Summit High School football games, and spend time with her family.

Claire was the wife of the late John S. Speziale. Beloved mother of John S. Speziale, Jr., and Kathy Halasz and her husband Peter. Sister of Joan Simon and her late husband Herb, and Shirley Augenstein and her husband Ralph. She was the grandmother of Jessica, Peter Jr., Ashley, Michael, Nancy and Paul. Great-grandmother of Angela and Megan.
