Clara Aufschneider (nee Senick) 89 of Ortley Beach, NJ died on Saturday March 4, 2017. The funeral will be  in the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue Union on Wednesday at 12 noon. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10 am - 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.

Born in Newark she lived in Union for 38 years, before moving to Ortley Beach 29 years ago. She was the Executive Assistant at the Boys and Girls Club of Union County in Union for many years, retiring 30 years ago.

Clara was the wife of the late Michael G. Aufschneider who died in 1977, and the longtime companion of Michael Esposito. She is the mother of Michael Aufschneider and his wife Jan of Panama City, Fla. Kurt Aufschneider and his wife Kathi, and Karen Vail and her husband Rick of Bishopville, Maryland. The sister of the late John Senick, Helen Prasch, Anna Stock, and Dorothy Wojtowicz, she was  the grandmother of Sasha Aufschneider of Florida, and Samantha Vail of Bishopville, Maryland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews
