Claude "Cye" Everett

Claude Y. "Cye" Everett, 72 of Newark passed away on March 28, 2020.

Private services are entrusted to the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union.

Born in Hackensack to the late Russell and Flora (nee Thompson) Everett, Cye was part of a multi-generational Hackensack family, with his ancestral roots traced back to the Indigenous people of the Hackensack area. A graduate of Hackensack High School and a resident throughout his life, Cye also lived in Jersey City, and in Newark for many years. A gentleman who knew no limitations, Cye was always there to help his family. He helped them to learn, and as a talented handyman, could make them almost anything. Cye worked for many years as a parts manager with LPM Forklift until his retirement. Cye was also widely known for his vast collection of Marlboro memorabilia.

Claude was predeceased by his former wife Linda Everett, and by his partner Dolores. He was the loving father of Venus Everett and Abra Everett, devoted grandfather of Destinee Everett-Scott and Elanee Everett-Smalls. He was the brother of the late Russell Everett, Jr., and is survived by two nieces and two nephews.
