In Loving Memory of Columbia Markle

Columbia Markle, affectionately known as "Bena" & "Nugget" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, in Edison, NJ, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on August 18, 1935, in Newark, NJ, to her late parents Vito and Carmella (Angouli) Nappi. She lived in Union for many years prior to moving to Fords.

Columbia's proudest accomplishment was being a dedicated homemaker who poured her heart and soul into caring for her family. She leaves behind legacy of love and warmth that will cherished forever.

She is survived by her loving children: Monica Kaplan, Annmarie Kost, Paula Stecher, and Anthony Markle. She will be deeply missed by her sons-in-law Stuart Kaplan, Gary Kost, John Stecher, as well as her grandchildren: Kayla, Kesley, Karly, Mallory, Michael, Matthew, Tessa and great-grandchildren: Dominick, Evelyn, Abigail, Isla, Olivia, Audrey, Cole, Nathan, and Elena. Columbia was the beloved wife of the late Clinton Markle.

Columbia's life will be celebrated at the Galante Funeral Home-Union Location in Union, NJ. A visitation will take place on July 30th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.

Columbia will be remembered for her kindness and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace knowing she was surrounded by loved ones until the end.
