Connie (Concettina) Petio

Connie (Concettina) Petio (nee Messineo) 93 years old died on Sunday June 16 ^th , 2013 at her home in Union.

The funeral service will be conducted in the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday at 9 am. The interment will follow in The Most Precious Blood Cemetery in Hazelton, Pa. The visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 – 7 pm.

Connie was a Union official for the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America in Elizabeth, NJ for 48 years before being named their President for many years, until she retired in 1990.

Connie had a great zest for life and love for her family. She enjoyed baking for every holiday. She was a great seamstress and created beautiful afghans that she donated to Catholic Charities for patients who were wheelchair bound.

Connie was married to her late husband John Petio and is the sister of Ralph Messineo, and also the sister in law of James Petio and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
