Dan Manzi
Dan Manzi died of natural causes early Tuesday morning at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville. He was 95 years old. Dan grew up in Newark where he attended St. Antoninus Catholic School; he went on to study clothing design in New York City. Mr. Manzi was a long – time businessman in South Orange after moving from Newark, where he manufactured men’s clothing. He was active in both the Boy’s Club and UNICO for many years. Mr. Manzi served in the US Army 310 th Infantry Regiment during WWII and he was honored with the European Theatre Operations Ribbon, and the Battle Star. Immediately after the War, he married Anne Di Domenico; They were married for 65 years before she passed away in 2011.
He leaves his two children Daniel Manzi MD, and his wife Luisa, and Patricia Manzi and her husband Paul Ciraulo. He was the very proud grandfather of Daniela and Marisa Manzi.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills on Thursday at 11:15 am. Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Short Hills.
Arrangements are by Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, N.J. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the Oncology Center at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, N.J.
