Daniel J. Mc Guiness Jr. 77, of Union, died on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at home.

The funeral service will be conducted in the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday at 11 AM. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in Jersey City he lived in Kearny where he graduated from Kearny High School, before moving to Union 50 years ago. He was an HVAC mechanic/ steamfitter for Delta Engineering in Newark for 30 years, retiring 12 years ago. He was also a member of Steamfitters Local # 475 in Newark, and was a veteran of The US Navy serving during peacetime. An avid gardener he produced wonderful Jersey tomatoes.

Danny was married to his beloved wife Jean (nee Petrovich) for 26 years, and the late Sally (nee Mantley) also for 26 years, and is the loving  father of Daniel J. Mc Guiness III and his wife Donna, Sally Ann Smith and her husband Stephen, and Tiffany Moutis and her husband George. He was the devoted  brother of Elizabeth Ledbetter and her husband Robert, and was the proud grandfather of Kyle, Korey, Kayla, Demetri, Ariana,  and Lily.
