Daniel Quagliato, “DQ”, 88 of Houston, Texas passed away January 11, 2013 with his loving wife of 66 years, Lucy, by his side. He was born in Newark and spent most of his life residing in Union, NJ.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 18 at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 South Springfield Ave., Springfield at 10:30 AM. Entombment is at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Arrangements are by the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union.
After serving in the United States Army, DQ began his career as a Tool and Die Maker. He was the owner of EM Tool Company in Irvington and D.Q. Tool and Die, Inc. in Cranford, NJ and retired at age 67.DQ was an amazing gardener and always offered his homegrown tomatoes and herbs to everyone he knew. He traveled the world with Lucy and always loved gatherings with family and friends, of which he had many. He was truly the kindest and most generous person anyone ever came to know.
Along with his wife, Lucy, he is survived by Brothers John and Carmen; son, Donald and wife, Ku Lin of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Carol Mowaswes and husband, Sam; and daughter, Claire Cucciniello and husband, Larry of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren Melissa Chambers, Kate Cucciniello, Jana Arnette, Justin Quagliato, Nicolina Quagliato, Soni Quagliato, Don Siloway and Tracy Siloway. Also, the special children that held such a special spot in his heart…his great-grandchildren Harrison Chambers, Stella Chambers, Marvin Arnette, Nathan Quagliato and Nicole Quagliato.
In lieu of flowers and any customary remembrances donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
