Dawn Schmidt, 53, of Hillside,  passed away on Sunday, July 19  2015 at Overlook Hospital.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, NJ on Friday at 12 pm. Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation is on Friday from 9 am to 12 pm.

Born in Somerville, Dawn lived in Orange and Irvington before moving to Hillside . She was a waitress at Embassy Diner in Union for many years and also worked the cotton candy wagon for Eddie’s Amusements. Dawn loved to laugh,adored pets, and was a die hard Giants fan.

Dear companion of Ed Astone for 25 years; Daughter of Lynn (nee Lucarini) Jackson and the late James Kukish; Mother of Craig McMahon; Sister of Ellen. She is survived by many good friends.
