It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Delfina Mosquera, beloved matriarch of the Mosquera family, who passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on October 22, 2023. Born on November 7, 1932, in Acebedo del Río, Spain, Delfina was a woman of incredible strength, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Throughout her long life, Delfina embodied the spirit of perseverance and dedication, raising and nurturing her family with love, wisdom, and grace.

Delfina is survived by her son, Dr. Jose Luis Mosquera, and his wife, Elaine Martins Mosquera; her grandchildren, Justin Lee Mosquera and his wife, Lisa Beth Mosquera, Matthew Joseph Mosquera, and Elara Kai Hadjipateras and her husband, Peter Hadjipateras; as well as her great-grandchildren, Lea Mariana Mosquera, Molly Elise Mosquera, and John Koa Hadjipateras. She was predeceased by her mother, Carmen Feijoo, her husband, Jose Luaces Mosquera, and her father, Francisco Mendez.

Her legacy of love, resilience, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Delfina's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Rosario Vargas for their support during her final years.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Delfina at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday October 24, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church Newark Abbey on Friday at 10 AM. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet directly at church. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.
