It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denis Valcourt, a beloved father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Born on September 11, 1940, in the serene town of Marmalade, Haiti, Denis lived a life full of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He departed this world surrounded by the love of those who cherished him most, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and enduring memories.


Denis was a man of deep faith and boundless generosity. He touched the lives of countless individuals with his warm smile, wise counsel, and unwavering support. His journey from Marmalade to building a life filled with love and purpose inspired all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength for his family, a source of wisdom for his friends, and a beacon of hope for his community.


Denis is survived by his four brothers, who shared with him a lifetime of memories and brotherly bonds; his two sons, who carry forward his legacy of love and perseverance; his two grandsons and two granddaughters, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were blessed to know him. His family was his greatest pride, and his love for them knew no bounds.


Though Denis has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter, his stories, and his unwavering love will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


Denis Valcourt’s journey may have come to an end, but his legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to inspire generations to come. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A viewing will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025 at Holy Spirit & Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 17 N. Clinton St. East Orange from 9-10 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, and entombment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Galante Funeral Home in Union.
