Dolores Di Nuzzo

Dolores DiNuzzo (nee Palumbo), age 63, of Union, died peacefully at the home of her.
sister on August 2, 2016 after long and courageous battles with several illnesses.
She fought long and hard and her family was her life. She never gave up no matter
how awful she felt because she had a purpose in life just being with her family. She
gave all of herself and expected nothing in return except love. Her giant beautiful
heart, bright smile, generosity, compassion, and love of cooking, baking, holidays,
and family will live on forever in our hearts. She surely gained her angel wings and
a straight pass to heaven.

Although not a mother herself, Dolores helped raise her siblings, nieces, nephews, and 4 legged friends Buddy, Sammy,  Honey, Dolce.

Born in Newark, NJ, she resided in Edison before moving to Union many years ago
to be with her family. She was the co-owner of Dino's luncheonette in Kenilworth
for several years before giving it up for her true passion of raising children. "Dee"
as everyone knew her was the baker, the shopper, the cooker, the homework
helper, the savior, and most of all, the most loving woman ever. Dee always said
yes to the children, even yes to the dogs for a treat.

Dolores is survived by sisters Priscilla Palumbo, Michele Santos, Denice Tortorello,
JoEllen Pedone and brother Joseph Palumbo. Also survived by the loves of her life
Joseph, Nicole, Dominique, Alexis, Anthony, Bella, Tiffany, & Shiloh and many
nieces and nephews. Also survived by her step-children, Joseph, Alex, Lisa, Linda
and step-grandchildren. Dolores was pre-deceased by her parents Joseph & Doris
Palumbo, brother Frank Palumbo, and her husband Alessandro DiNuzzo.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue in Union on Saturday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in Holy Spirit Church in Union at 10:30 am.. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Friends are invited to pay tribute to Dolores on Friday August 5, from 4-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
