Dominick Attanasi, 91 of Orlando, Fla. passed away on April 7, 2015.

Funeral Service will be held in the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Wednesday April 15, at 11:30 AM.

Interment will follow at at Graceland Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Wednesday April 15th from 10 - 11:30 AM.

Born in Newark, N.J. At the age of 13 years old, Dominick moved to Union, N.J. He attended Union High School and one year of Newark preparatory School. At the age of 18, Dominick formed a 4-piece band as a saxophone and clarinet player. At 19 years old, he was inducted into service to serve his country in World War II. He received Basic Training for duty in the Medical Corp in Abilene, Texas. After discharge from the Army, he joined his father, Emil Attanasi, who was in the industrial waste business. After his father retired, his brother Joe joined Dominick, and they formed a partnership called D&J Trucking and Waste Company, Inc.

In 1946, Dominick and Katherine Cavitch of Washington, N.J. were married. They had 2 sons, Emil from Vienna, VA and Donald from Lakeville, PA and 1 daughter, Kathleen from Orlando, FL; six granddaughters – Jennifer, Katherine, Marie, Meagan, Abigail, and Kate and one grandson, Luke. Dominick is also survived by eight great-grandchildren – Jacob, Cole, Lillian Kay, Dominick, Claire, Hannah, Benjamin, and Campbell.
Dominick and Katherine lived in Union for 45 years, then moved and retired to their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, spending the winters at their home in Orlando, FL. Dominick moved to Florida full time in 2010 following the passing of Katherine.
